En un acto emotivo y entrañable, el salón de actos del Consejo Regulador volvió a quedarse pequeño para una cita que prácticamente se ha convertido en obligatoria para el sector y los aficionados al vino en general.
La vocación de los premios, en su XXXI edición, que partía del propio Consejo Regulador con el objetivo de reconocer el mérito de sus bodegas en el esfuerzo por la calidad de sus vinos, sirve hoy fundamentalmente como escaparate promocional para el público profesional y consumidor final aficionado.
De hecho, uno de los puntos más señalados en la velada ha sido el crecimiento comercial de los vinos con DO La Mancha en este último año. El propio Presidente del Consejo Regulador, Carlos David Bonilla ha querido felicitar a las bodegas participantes con 400 muestras presentadas en esta edición en un año que ha subrayado por su “calidad excelente”. En su alocución pública, también ha matizado el incremento de las ventas en el mercado internacional donde las bodegas manchegas “han conseguido llegar a más de noventa países distintos”. Unos números “que cantan por sí solos, donde se ha incrementado el valor económico de las ventas en más de un 18 % respecto al 2016”, ha apuntado Gregorio Jaime, Director General de Industrias Agroalimentarias y cooperativas.
En palabras de la alcaldesa de Alcázar de San Juan, estos premios a calidad subrayan la calidad de las bodegas, como profetas en su tierra “siendo reconocidas en tu propia casa y por la gente del sector, algo que tiene mucho más mérito”, ha reseñado Rosa Melchor.
Asistieron también al acto autoridades políticas de la provincia de Ciudad Real, como Gonzalo Redondo Cárdenas, vicepresidente de la Diputación Provincial de Ciudad Real y Carmen Teresa Olmedo Pedroche, Delegada de la Junta de Comunidades de Castilla La Mancha en Ciudad Real, una provincia que hoy es la mayor provincia en superficie de viñedo (más de 77.000ha) y producción de la Denominación de Origen La Mancha.
Antes de la entrega de los galardones, Gregorio Martín-Zarco y Fernando Villena, expresidente y exvicepresidente, respectivamente, recibieron la insignia de oro y brillante del Consejo Regulador por su trabajo al frente de la Denominación de Origen La Mancha.
